What makes Japandi so calming
Japandi is the meeting between Japanese minimalism and Scandinavian warmth. From the former comes the simplicity, from the latter the feeling that a space may be inhabited. What remains is an interior with little noise.
You recognize the style by low, horizontal lines and by furniture that is given space around it. Nothing asks for attention, and precisely because of that, the quality of the material stands out.
Materials and colors
Wood is the starting point. Think of natural oak, walnut and black smoked oak, combined with matte bases that remain thin and do not claim attention.
The colors remain in earth tones: sand, taupe, warm gray and off-white. A single dark accent gives depth without the whole becoming heavy.
Which shapes fit Japandi
Soft shapes do well. In this collection you see that reflected in pebble-shaped and organic tabletops, and in the Danish oval dining table that rounds off the corners. Also a round dining table fits this image.
If you are looking for something straighter, then a sleek tabletop with a thin base works just as well. The warmth is then in the material, not in the shape. Our oak dining tables lend themselves best to this.
Combining with other interior styles
Japandi is very close to Scandinavian living, and those two mix effortlessly. If you want more tension, then look at design furniture with a more pronounced shape. A single striking piece of furniture is enough.

Everything in this collection you put together yourself. You choose the size, the material of the tabletop and the color of the base, so that the piece of furniture matches the space in which it will be placed.
It is difficult to judge material on a screen. Come feel the wood grains and fabrics in one of our home stores. An appointment is not necessary, but it is useful if you want extensive advice.
